New compliance regulations being introduced by Gulf countries to combat data leakage and security breaches in the payment card industry (PCI) and other large financial and government enterprises is driving demand for data loss prevention (DLP) solutions.
The new regulations, introduced following several data leakage incidents among large financial institutions in the Gulf, require enterprises to comply with strict data security standards to prevent accidental or intentional transfer of potentially sensitive data.
To address the technical requirements of these new regulations, Websense, a leader in integrated web security, data security and email security solutions, conducted a workshop in Bahrain for its local partner Hilal Computers to update engineers on the latest Websense DLP solutions and capabilities and how they can help large organisations comply with the new regulations.
Geoffrey Milne, right, general manager, Al Hilal Group, Hilal Computers' parent company said that the move towards greater regulation of data security in Gulf countries, coupled with the commitment by Websense to support its local partners, would enable Hilal Computers to enhance data security applications for the benefit of its client base in the different sectors.
