THE wonders of Wahooo! have won the inaugural GulfWeekly Premiership League after an amazing nail-biting final fixture goal feast against AC Jurassics ... which left the stunned Dilmun Club in tears and second place.
Tim Gillet, Wahooo!'s captain, said: "If feels not too bad!"
The Dilly boys came unstuck last week when they were held to a 1-1 draw by the previously pointless British School of Bahrain whipping boys.
Three points would have ensured the title went to the Saar-based outfit and up until Monday night the trophy still looked securely in their grasp as Wahooo! were faced with the unlikely task of defeating AC Jurassics by six clear goals to snatch the title away on goal difference.
Wahooo! were determined to 'do a Chelsea'. The Blues whacked Wigan by eight clear goals 24 hours earlier to secure the English Premiership and Wahooo! went one better with an astonishing 9-0 victory after going four goals clear by half-time and could even afford to bring on crocked forward Krazy Kevin for a cameo performance.
Tournament organiser Paul Millington said after the game: "Wahooo! tore their opponents apart and were deserving winners of the title in what was a thrilling climax to the season."
Title chasers AXA Rugby Club beat the British Club 4-2 leaving the team three points behind the champions and in third place.
