Wednesday (May 19) The World Beat Fitness Centre in Budaiya is staging a Zumba fitness and drumming workshop for women. Zumba is a new aerobic dance with easy to follow steps set to Latin and world music. The fitness session will be conducted by Marcela today from 7pm to 8pm. The Alliance Francaise of Bahrain will host a joint exhibition titled 'Life in a Cup?' featuring the works of artists Moosa Silwadi, Bruno Campagnie, Ali Al Saeed, Fadel Al Shobaki and Sonia Moretti. The exhibition will be a mixture of paintings, installations, photography and creative writing on a common theme based on coffee traditions. The Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research will present the works of Bahraini artist Khalid Farhan from 7pm until June 5 at the Bin Matar House in Muharraq. He will present a selection of sculptures in brass and bronze, ranging from small, hand-size pieces to forms that are over two metres high. Farhan was born in Muharraq and is also a sculptor in wood, stone, brass and bronze. The Bin Matar House is open Saturday to Thursday, from 9am-1pm and 4-7pm. A collective women's exhibition titled 'Stare at the Other Side...' will be held until May 30 at 7pm at the Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya. Eleven women artists chosen from Bahrain and the region will display canvases or photographs depicting their vision of art. The exhibition is an open invitation.
