Wednesday (May 19) The World Beat Fitness Centre in Budaiya is staging a Zumba fitness and drumming workshop for women. Zumba is a new aerobic dance with easy to follow steps set to Latin and world music. The fitness session will be conducted by Marcela today from 7pm to 8pm. The Alliance Francaise of Bahrain will host a joint exhibition titled 'Life in a Cup?' featuring the works of artists Moosa Silwadi, Bruno Campagnie, Ali Al Saeed, Fadel Al Shobaki and Sonia Moretti. The exhibition will be a mixture of paintings, installations, photography and creative writing on a common theme based on coffee traditions. The Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research will present the works of Bahraini artist Khalid Farhan from 7pm until June 5 at the Bin Matar House in Muharraq. He will present a selection of sculptures in brass and bronze, ranging from small, hand-size pieces to forms that are over two metres high. Farhan was born in Muharraq and is also a sculptor in wood, stone, brass and bronze. The Bin Matar House is open Saturday to Thursday, from 9am-1pm and 4-7pm. The third Elham Arts Festival ends today with a music concert titled Museland V2 being held at the Cultural Hall, near the Bahrain National Museum from 7pm to 11pm. The Portfolio Night, hosted by Memac Ogilvy & Mather Bahrain, will take place at Waterlemon, Al A'Aali Mall, Seef, starting at 5.30pm. It is designed to give students and young aspiring creative people the platform to enter the advertising industry.

A collective women's exhibition titled 'Stare at the Other Side...' will be held until May 30 at 7pm at the Albareh Art Gallery in Adliya. Eleven women artists chosen from Bahrain and the region will display canvases or photographs depicting their vision of art. The exhibition is an open invitation. Participating artists are Faika Al Hassan, Haela Alwaari, Lobna Al Amin and Nabila Al Khayer from Bahrain, Bahrain-based Egyptian artists Jehan Saleh and Karima Taha, Leila Chalabi and Zena Assi from Lebanon, Shadi Ghadirian from Iran, Shereen Audi from Jordan and Stephanie Devico from Morocco. The Indian Club May Queen Ball 2010 will be held at the club premises from 7.30pm onwards. The event will be choreographed by Kevin d'Kunha and the contest will consist of four rounds of catwalk - casual, ethnic, formal and a question-answer session.

Today and tomorrow the JJ's Irish Restaurant in Adliya presents awarded-winning Scottish rock and funk band Skerryvore.

Students are being invited to come up with slogans which can be used as banners to spread information and awareness on environmental issues and prompt people to participate in its improvement.
