Watch out for a new Indian film featuring Bahrain which is scheduled for release in GCC countries by the end of September.

Nilaavu, meaning moonlight, is the story about a young, migrant worker called Hari. His journey to Bahrain has led him away from the lush green and lively village environment in Kerala to the lonesome, new world where he meets Lakshmi, a lonely nature lover, married to a rich businessman. Despite all the material luxuries that money can buy, she feels caged in the fortress of a dysfunctional relationship.

Their solitude and search for emotional anchorage brings them together. Krishnan Haridas as 'Hari' and Sunita Sunil as 'Lakshmi' highlight the emotional complexities of expatriate life in the Gulf.

Delving deep into the psyche of the Indian community, Nilaavu, through a strong supporting cast, captures the dreams, desires and aspirations of the migrants and families in the backdrop of the cultural ethos of Bahrain.

The movie is scripted and directed by Ajith Nair, who has won recognition in Bahrain for his short films, and co-produced by Krishnan Haridas under the banner of New Sky Productions.

The movie is shot in Bahrain as well as in Kerala by cinematographer Unni C.B, known for cinematography of documentaries in BBC and National Geography. It is currently being edited by Andrew and Nikhil Venu.

The film features two songs written by Ajith Nair and sung by popular Indian play back singers K.S. Chitra and G. Venugopal.

The director is currently looking for dubbing artists, with prior drama or vocal experience, who may contact Sherif Shaji on 33593927 or email at newskyp@gmail.com
