The Alliance Francaise Bahrain CinŽ-club is showing the 1953 movie Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot directed by Jacques Tati and starring Nathalie Pascaud, Micheline Rolla and Raymond Carl at Alliance Francaise Bahrain in Isa Town at 7.30pm. The story follows Monsieur Hulot's holiday at a beachside hotel where he accidentally (but good-naturedly) causes havoc. The movie is shown in French with English subtitles. Friday (July 16)

The fourth edition of 'Mr Pogi International Contest' will be held on July 16 at the Palace Hotel's Envy outlet in Adliya. Men aged between 17 and 30 will compete in the two-part event.

It is organised by Dubai-based hair and beauty consultant Albert Gayo and the Filipino Club's Aero Fitness Group, led by Bong De La Cruz. Tickets are BD3.

The winner and two runners-up will be announced at a Coronation Night event that will take place at 7pm on August 6 at the hotel's Falcon Hall. Tickets are BD5.

Registration is BD5 per contestant and the deadline to register is July 6. Proceeds form the event will be donated to the Philippines Embassy's Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Filipino Club.

Saar Music Centre summer 'creative zone' takes place from July 18-29, Sunday to Thursday from 2pm to 4pm with a grand performance on July 29 at 7pm. The zone will offer music, poetry, art, dance and include an acting project for children aged eight to 14. They will create a multi-media show from scratch in two weeks.
