Tourism bosses in Mauritius are hoping to entice families from Bahrain to celebrate this Eid Al Fitr on the idyllic island paradise.
Situated off the east coast of Africa, Mauritius is a tranquil escape and the perfect place to rejuvenate and unwind after the intense period of cleansing and fasting experienced during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
On an island that is just 78km from north to south it is hard to miss the magnificent 330km of surrounding coastline and pristine white-sand beaches. Visitors can enjoy the crystal clear lagoons or explore the magnificent coral reef with options of scuba diving, snorkeling, submarine trips and under-sea walks.
Mauritius is also famous for its world-class spas, which are sponsored by top names including Clarins, Givenchy, Guerlain, La Prairie and Shisheido and feature treatments from a diverse range of therapies including Ayurvedic, African and Creole.
A tourism spokesman said: "From active pursuits to duty-free shopping, Mauritius offers a wealth of activities for the whole family to enjoy. The island is well known for its spectacular golf courses, as well as a range of water sports, hiking, cyclo tourism, ski-diving and fishing."
Leading international hotels can also be found in Mauritius such as the Four Seasons, Hilton, Le Meridien, Oberoi, Starwood, Intercontinental, and the exclusive One & Only Le Saint GŽran, which caters to a number of celebrity clients and boasts England's Prince William as well as Monaco's Princess Caroline as previous guests.
Many of these resorts offer private villas, providing a home-away-from-home feeling.
With nine flights a week from neighbouring Dubai to Mauritius getting there couldn't be easier and the mild tropical climate also offers a reprise from the summer heat of the Gulf.
