Lulu expansion plans

RETAIL giant LuLu Hypermarket is celebrating the third anniversary of its Dana Mall store and second anniversary of its operations in Riffa ... with expansion plans just around the corner.

Regional director Juzer Rupawala joined senior managers for a cake-cutting ceremony in Sanabis and lucky customers had the chance to win a host of instant prizes.

Mr Rupawala said: "We would like to thank all our loyal shoppers for their support since we launched our Bahrain operations in 2007 and promise our continued efforts to deliver the best service and prices to them.

"The LuLu Hypermarket anniversary celebrations were a sign of our renewed pledge of superb service and quality."

He says the company's two stores have become 'firm favourites' with the kingdom's shoppers. As part of the celebrations, the stores launched a month-long promotions including a series of special 'one-day' offers, a 'killer surprise', a 'happy hour' deal as well as a 'super sale' of up to 50 per cent off on all garments, footwear, linen and toys.

The hypermarket chain is also busy putting the finishing touches to its expansion plans for the island with two more store openings planned - one in A'ali in a few months time and one in Hidd early next year.

LuLu Hypermarkets, is the retail division of the multi-national UAE-based EMKE Group, and has more than 80 stores across the region with the empire expanding into India. Lulu Cochin mall, built on an area of 232,000 square metres will boast more than 240 outlets including food courts, restaurants, family entertainment zones and a seven-screen multiplex cinema. Upon completion it will be the biggest shopping mall of India.
