New role for top Gulf Hotel officer

Garfield Jones has been appointed as general manager of the Gulf Hotel in addition to his current responsibilities as deputy chief executive officer of the Gulf Hotel Group.

He boasts more than 25 years experience in the hotel industry, having worked in leading hotels in the UK, Africa and the Middle East.

He joined the Gulf Hotels Group in 1995 and held various posts including food & beverage manager, director of food & beverage and executive assistant manager. In 2002 he transferred to the corporate office as director of operations and was appointed deputy chief executive officer in 2007.

Mr Jones has overseen a variety of development projects including five of the Gulf Hotel's fine-dining restaurants.
