The US team secured a narrow two point victory in the Royal Golf Club’s version of the Ryder Cup which was played on the club’s Montgomerie championship course.

The tournament, which was played in a foursomes alternate shot format, was won by the American team who finished with eight points against the European team’s six.

Competitors also had the chance to win some great Ryder Cup merchandise by taking part in side contests for both ladies and gents.

“There was some great banter between the two teams out on course and a few ‘in the hole’ shouts from the Americans,” said John Wilson, the club’s golf events key accounts manager. “Unlike the real thing being played in Wales we also managed to escape the rain for the whole day!”
