GLEE guest star Darren Criss has turned a 'Teenage Dream' into reality.
The Fox series' co-producer, Twentieth Television, says Criss and his character, prep school glee club member Blaine, will continue to appear on the show this season and
that Criss could become a regular next year under a newly-signed deal.
The 23-year-old's character was introduced last week as a mentor to Kurt (Chris Colfer), an outwardly gay student who faces harassment at school. Criss and the glee club at his school performed a cover of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream in that episode.
Twentieth Television says the cover scored the highest first-day sales for a Glee track, with more than 55,000 downloads.
Criss returned to the screen on Tuesday's episode, which featured guest star Gwyneth Paltrow as a substitute teacher.
Twentieth Television says whether Criss's character and Kurt become romantically involved is undecided.
