Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith) is a lawyer with a wife and family. However, his happy normal life is about to be turned upside down after a chance meeting with a college buddy at a lingerie shop where unknown to him, he's been burdened with a videotape of a congressman's assassination. Hot on the tail of this tape is a ruthless group of National Security Agents commanded by a belligerently ambitious fed named Reynolds (Jon Voight). Driven by acute paranoia, Dean enlists the help of a clandestine former NSA operative.

When a meteor shower bombards parts of New York City, NASA discovers a gigantic asteroid will collide with Earth in 18 days, killing all life on earth. With help from the military, NASA scientists, led by Dan Truman, plan to embed a nuclear bomb hundreds of feet within the asteroid, splitting it into two parts that will both safely fly past the Earth. NASA contacts the best deep-sea oil driller in the world, and beg him to help to save the world.

A team of specially trained secret-agent guinea pigs take on a mission for the US government. The tiny team is dispatched to stop a diabolical billionaire, who plans to taking over the world with household appliances. However, they're equipped with gadgets and tools including an advanced earpiece that allows them talk to humans.
