WEDNESDAY (Dec 8) Film - The Waiting City on Super Movies at 9pm

An outwardly happy Australian couple, Ben and Fiona, journey to Calcutta, India to collect their adopted baby, but on arrival find that the arrangements at the agency have yet to be finalised. They have no option but to wait in this chaotic, foreign place. But as the intoxicating mystic powers of the Indian city pulls each of them in separate and unexpected directions, the vulnerability of their marriage begins to reveal itself.

In the last year of the life of writer and philosopher Count Leo Tolstoy, 1910, turbulence mounts as the Count's devoted and idealistic disciples, led by Vladimir Chertkov, manoeuvre against his family-oriented wife. The main setting is the count's country estate of Yasnaya Polyana. The count and countess have a long-standing and loving marriage, but his idealistic and spiritual side is at odds with her more aristocratic and conventional religious views.

Film - Fantastic Mr Fox on Showmovies at 8pm

A wily fox uses his formidable cunning to outsmart three feeble-minded farmers who resort to extreme tactics to protect their chickens in director Wes Anderson's animated adaptation of the popular Roald Dahl children's book. George Clooney supplies the voice for Mr Fox, with Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, and Jason Schwartzman rounding out the rest of the cast.

Hotshot plastic surgeon Christian Troy enjoys all the perks of the successful and growing Miami practice that he shares with his best friend, Sean McNamara. But while the money and women continue satisfying Christian's needs, years of selling a phony image have taken their toll on Sean and distanced him from his wife and children. This medical drama from Ryan Murphy explores the dark side of plastic surgery and the painful and sometimes violent lengths people will go in their quest for external beauty.

Film - Wall-E on Fox Movies at 11pm

After hundreds of lonely years of doing what he was built for, Wall-E discovers a new purpose in life (besides collecting knick-knacks) when he meets a sleek search robot named Eve. Eve comes to realise that Wall-E has inadvertently stumbled upon the key to the planet's future, and races back to space to report her findings to the humans (who have been eagerly awaiting word that it is safe to return home). Meanwhile, Wall-E chases Eve across the galaxy.

Documentary - Mythbusters Top 25 Special on Discovery Channel at 2.10pm

A Premiering as part of the 'Best of 2010' season on Discovery Channel, 'Mythbusters: Top 25 Special' is a unique two-hour special of the popular series that sees the entire team get nostalgic as they take a look back at their top 25 most celebrated moments.

Series - Parenthood Season One on OSN Series HD at 9pm

A one-hour drama inspired by the box office hit of the same name, this re-imagined and updated production follows the trials and tribulations of the large, colourful and imperfect Braverman family. Sarah Braverman is a financially strapped single mother trying to raise two teenaged kids, the bright but rebellious Amber, and sullen and sensitive Drew.
