HAVE something to say but can't put it into words? The answer could not be simpler ... sing it! Viewers from across the Gulf will soon be offered the chance to express themselves through music broadcast live on Abu Dhabi TV in a reality television show called Ghanni (sing).
The concept of the show was created in Holland and is being brought to life in the region by Endemol Middle East, a digital production company based in Dubai.
The parent media group has produced international blockbusters such as Big Brother, Deal or No Deal, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Star Academy, The Money Drop and Wipeout.
Endemol Middle East's executives say they want to create a show for the everyday Arab.
Line producer Nazih Lahoud said: "On this new show, ordinary men and women - with some, or no vocal talent - will get the chance to express their anger, love, frustration, regret, secrets or appreciation for someone through songs.
"If you want to ask your wife to give you one more chance, tell your neighbour that he or she is too noisy, thank your mother for always being there or even ask your boss for a pay rise ...this is the show to do it.
"Be it a rap, love song or duet, these people don't say what's on their mind, they sing it, so why shouldn't you? But remember, Ghanni is neither a singing competition nor a talent show."
A screening process will be held throughout the Middle East and everyone is welcome to audition. Once picked, the team sits with each individual to find out their story which is then sent to professional musicians to transform into lyrics and a melody.
The guests will then be given their songs to perform in front of an audience. The show's 'celebrity host' will be announced at a later date.
Every show will feature six guests from different countries to tell their story and sing their message live on the air.
