A MOVIE highlighting the dangers children face in internet chatrooms has drawn critical acclaim since its preview at the Cannes Film Festival.

The psychological thriller Chatroom, follows the story of a disturbed teen who tries to alleviate his own misery by making others miserable. The movie draws attention to the darker, more sinister parts of the internet and puts the spotlight on online bullying and the tragic affects it can have.

Jaded teens Jim, Eva, Emily and Mo meet online after being seduced into joining an innocent looking chatroom. However, the chatroom's creator, William, is not what he seems. He's calculating and manipulative, which is unfortunate for Jim, a depressed loner who has no idea how dangerous his new friend is.

One critic from avoir-alire.com said: "Chatroom highlights the plight of depressed teens and reflects the insanity of a generation caught up in the computer world."
