I got a T-shirt as a gift recently. On the back it proclaims: 'It's not the food in your life, it's the life in your food'.
This quote really sums it all up. It makes you stop for a second and think about it and then you realise that it makes perfect sense.
The food we are eating today is empty. It has very little nutrients, if any. And, it has been cooked and processed to death.
How is your food supposed to give you life if it has no life to begin with?
Dairy products are pasteurised and homogenised until they have virtually no nutrients left. Junk food is fried, burned and altered to the extent that it adds no value, whatsoever, to your health. And, our daily use of white, refined products along with desserts, fizzy drinks, and caffeinated concoctions means that we're living on very little raw materials to help us evolve and improve.
If you're reading this right now, you need to think very carefully about the next food item you put into your mouth. Think of your food as the fuel that helps your cells heal and regenerate. Your food must have life in order to give you health.
So make sure to add LIVE food in your next meal or snack. Look for a plant-based option such as fruits, vegetables, salads or sprouts.
When you sprout beans, pulses or seeds, their nutrient value increases tremendously and they become a powerhouse of nutrients.
Sprouting is similar to what you did as a kid in science class. You take dry beans and sprinkle them with water for a few days, and watch them grow roots.
There are various methods of sprouting, but the final result should be beans, pulses, or seeds that have a little tail on the end. You would eat the whole thing. Some grains are easier to sprout than others.
I find mung beans to be the easiest to sprout and you can add them to your salad, or sprout sunflower seeds and sprinkle them on your vegetables. Sprouting is very simple; you can easily find out how to do it by searching on the internet.
Make sure that you add something RAW to every meal and snack. Have a smoothie (preferably a green smoothie) with breakfast, a fruit salad for snack, and a large salad with lunch or dinner.
Munch on a vegetable stick when you're hungry, or grab some raw nuts for a quick boost. Nuts are even better when they have been soaked in water for a few hours. The soaking releases their nutrients and enzymes.
Start thinking of ways to make your food work better for you. This way you will not just be going through the motions of eating, you would actually be giving your body life in the process.
A lot of people say: 'why not enjoy life, we only live once'. They are usually referring to eating what they want and not paying attention to healthy food.
The way I see it, if you only live once, why not make that life a wonderful experience? When you look and feel good, nothing will compare to that. You will start enjoying your salads and vegetables and you will realise that the price to pay for unhealthy eating is just not worth it.
Eating healthy food that will give you life will be your ticket to achieving your dreams and maximising your potential. It's not really about living long, it's about having a great life and dying well!
