Seafood lovers are in for a treat at Steak n Wok with an array of scrumptious grilled and fried delicacies.

The outlet, situated on a cosy edge on Adliya's bustling main road, is luring customers to its den with its special seafood platter.

It features an assortment of sea bites including crab, prawns, mussels, squid as well as Bahrain's favourite catch, hammour. On upgrading the platter from BD5 to BD15, diners can enjoy the added pleasure of lobster.

The platter is usually served with fresh green salad and saffron rice with mixed vegetables.

The menu also features an extensive range of Chinese and grilled dishes as well as sizzlers, steaks and even Arabic appetisers such as mezzeh.

Chef Fairoos Deen, 35, in charge of the restaurant's seafood and steak section, boasts 10 years of culinary experience and hails from Sri Lanka. He moved to the island eight years ago to join his brother, Nasseruddin, also a chef, working at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Manama.

Chef Fairoos gained experience at the former Fish World seafood diner in Dana Mall before taking up the opportunity to assist with the opening of Steak n Wok. He specialises in seafood dishes, but his lamb chops are also highly recommended by diners.

The restaurant can host up to 35 diners and the food is also available for home delivery.

Steak n Wok is part of the Unique Restaurant Management Company which also operates Mumbai Spices outlets in Bahrain Mall and Sharjah as well as Saffron Souk in Yateem Centre, Manama, offering Indian, Thai and Chinese cuisine.

Managing director Abdul Rasheed Puthusseri said a sister restaurant to Steak n Wok, called Gills n Grills, will shortly open at the recently-opened Ramli Mall in A'ali.

Further plans include a fine-dining Indian restaurant called Cilantro which is set to open its doors in Umm Al Hassam on St Valentine's Day, February 14.

Chef Firoos shares a recipe for GulfWeekly readers.
