The American Mission Hospital has welcomed back a former dentist to the fold after enjoying a successful spell as a senior lecturer at a leading dental college in Asia.
Dr Brighta Rosebel Devadas, pictured left, aims to bring a 'smile to the kingdom' in her role as a general dentist/orthodontist.
She is back at AMH along with her husband Dr Pravin Asir Abraham, who is a paediatrician and cardiologist at AMH.
"Being born and brought up in the kingdom, she finds herself proud to serve the people of Bahrain," a hospital spokesman said.
Her specialisation includes dental care for children and adults, especially for those who are in need of orthodontic and dento-facial orthopaedic corrections such as jaw discrepancies.
Crowding, spacing, flared front teeth and impacted teeth are also routine procedures and she believes ceramic 'tooth-coloured' brackets are also an option when it comes to aesthetics.
In 2006, soon after obtaining her degree, she worked at the American Mission Hospital's Saar Dental Clinic. Later, she moved to India due to her personal commitments and from 2007 to 2009 taught and trained students at Sri Ramakrishna Dental College in Coimbatore, India.
She also treated patients as a consultant orthodontist at the same institution.
