Wednesday (Jan 26)The Autumn Fair starts today at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre until February 3. Packed with over 770 exhibitors from 28 countries, this fair will showcase thousands of products from across the globe from specialty food, fashion and furniture to technology, toys, textiles and much more. It will be open daily from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 10pm tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and February 2 and 3. Today and Friday the exhibition will be open from noon to 10 pm. Albareh Art gallery will showcase an exhibition by Iranian artist Bita Ghezelayagh until February 7. Ghezelayagh's exhibition features a collection of felt costumes which combines talismanic symbols, silk screen printing and embroidery.

Previously an architect and art director of several Iranian films, Ghezelayagh started working with felt in 2004.

She was born in Italy in 1966, and brought up in Tehran where she lived through the revolution of 1979 and the war.

Her works are in major collections including the British Museum.

A Japanese Film Festival is being organised by the Japanese Embassy in association with the Bahrain Japan Friendship Society and the Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research and opens today at 7pm at the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre in Muharraq. The festival begins with the screening of 'Swing Girls'. 'Aiki' will be staged on February 10 and 'Hinokio' on February 17. All four movies will be screened in Japanese, with English subtitles. The CinŽ-club will showcase French movie Mon frre se marie with English subtitles at the Centre Culturel Franco-Bahre•nien La Maison Jamsheer in Muharraq at 7.30pm. The story is about the Depierraz family and their adoptive son, Vinh. A professional production of Mozart's Don Giovanni will open at the Bahrain Conference Centre today and tomorrow before moving on to Beirut and Cyprus later in the year. The cast features Marc Callahan and Mina Katerina accompanied by an orchestra. Tickets are BD35 each, including dinner and a beverage or BD66 for a couple and can be purchased from Al Osra, Bookcase, the Crowne Plaza. An exceptional collection of jewelled works designed by Spanish artist Salvador Dali will be on display for the first time in the world at the premises of the Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH) Fine Art Gallery, a 275sqm exhibition space located at the West Atrium of the Harbour Mall, from today until February 2.

Dali's jewelled pieces are abundant in precious stones. These creations will be featured at the Opera Gallery exhibition that marks the inaugural event of the BFH Fine Art Gallery. The exhibition is open to the public for free viewing from 10am-8pm, throughout the week.

Hosted under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, as part of a week of arts related events organised by the Ministry of Culture for the 37th Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition, 'Opera Gallery and Salvador Dali Awaken Your Imagination in Bahrain' will be open for an exclusive viewing for guests by invitation only on Thursday.

Showcasing works by major artists such as Picasso, Renoir, Botero, Marc Quinn, Diego Masi and Romero Britto, the BFH Fine Art Gallery will present paintings worth over $4,000,000 and bronze sculptures by Dali estimated at over $9,500,000.
