International DJ Stevie George has taken the island by storm and is currently resident at Champs Sports Bar inside the Best Western Elite Hotel in Juffair six nights a week. After hosting a popular radio show in Southern Spain for five years, the music maestro has worked alongside Krazy Kevin in Hong Kong as well as in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Ibiza. In a regular column he'll be checking out the latest releases for GulfWeekly readers.

In honour of our dear friend Krazy Kevin, a lone group of four lost souls (known in Latin as SADDICUS GITTICUS) ventured unaided (and me without waterproofs) during a downpour of rain to conquer the daunting challenges of The Wee Monty Course ahead of this coming weekend's international golfing event at the Royal Golf Club.

So, whilst disposing of 50 litres of water from my sodden trainers I pondered about golf-related songs and artists and had fun compiling the following Top 10 of hits (and there is a bit of artistic licence applied):

Any Old IRON - Peter Sellers (1957)

Let's Have A PAR TEE (Party) - Wanda Jackson or Elvis Presley

You DRIVE Me Crazy - Shakin Stevens (1981)

BOGIE Nights - Heatwave (1977)

BIRDIE Song - The Tweets (1981)

Lying Eyes - The EAGLES (1975)

SWING When You're Winning - Robbie Williams (album/DVD) (2001)

DRIVEN By You - Brian May (1991)

A Little Bit More - Dr HOOK (1976)

And what better way to come into the clubhouse than with the ultimate golfers song:

Straight Down The Middle - Bing Crosby

Hot tip for this week:

ADELE - 21

After the huge success of her first album 19, this London-based singer has followed up with the amptly-named 21 which she says is based on the same ideas and experiences as 19 but shed in a different light. Here's a voice and talent which exceeds her years. It reminds me of stumbling across older female soul artists albums and playing them for the first time.

So until next time, readers remember - don't panic - half the people you know are below average
