The 9th Annual Jawad Mini-Marathon will be held on February 11 aimed at raising environmental awareness across Bahrain. Registrations can be done at The Jawad Dome, Barbar and at The Center in Nuwaidrat. The fees will be BD2 for adults and BD1 for children under 16. There will be two race distances - 5 km for children up to 15 years and 8 km for 16 and above. Online registrations can also be done at www.jawad.com/marathon. There will be trophies and prizes for the winners, and a raffle draw for all those who have registered will take place on the day of the event. The Bahrain Irish Society will present UK-based ABBA tribute FABBAGIRLS live in concert on February 17 at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa. The event will also feature DJ Alfie and prizes for the best fancy dress costume. Doors open from 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at BD10 and proceeds from the sales will go to Bahrain-based charities.
