TEAM Song proved victorious in the Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Under-8s In-House Champions League final beating Team Walcott in a nail-biting penalty shoot-out.

Seven seven-a-side teams competed in the competition with the league's top two sides - Team Song (Colby Altman, Stan Szecowka, Faisal Althawadi, Ali Sammak, Ibrahim Hashish, Walid Hassan and Ali Abdulla) and Team Walcott (Kareem Bagaeen, Ryan Hill, Matt Litvin, Zaafir Wassem, Ahmed Zayani, Zeyad Harraz and Sufyan Chowdury) playing in the final which ended 1-1 after normal time.

Drawing level after 16 penalties, Team Song's goalkeeper Szecowka, seven, made a crucial save in the sudden death shoot-out to secure his side the trophy.

As a way of giving back to the local community and to advance the objective of helping to improve the standard of youth football in the kingdom, Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain held a free event for local teams.

Ten teams, mainly from the Northern Governorate, competed in a seven-a-side tournament in Karranah. Budaiya and Janusan B reached the final which went to penalties with Janusan B emerging as champions. The next event will be an 11-a-side game between the winners of the tournament, plus selected players from the other competing teams, against an Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain side.

The Bahrain Rugby Club's Elite Under 16s side snatched a last-gasp equaliser in a thrilling 3-3 encounter with Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain's Under 16s at the Saar ground on Thursday evening.
