Alba's position as a flagship asset of the Bahrain economy was further strengthened with the appointment of 30 Bahraini nationals who joined the company's workforce.
The employees are fresh graduates from high schools and other educational establishments in Bahrain, and will be assigned entry level positions. They will join as operators in the carbon, potline, Casthouse, Workshop, Reduction & Maintenance and Process Control departments.
Alba's chief executive Laurent Schmitt said: "I welcome the 30 young Bahraini nationals who have chosen the aluminium industry and Alba, in particular, as the starting point of their career. This industry offers tremendous opportunities for career advancement since aluminium is widely considered as the metal of the future. And being part of a world leader like Alba gives them the added advantage of participating in an industry that contributes substantially to Bahrain's economy."
