The Manama Singers will present 'Summer time - a celebration of summer in popular song' on June 2 and 3 at 7.30pm at the British Club. Tickets will soon be available from Al Osra, The Bookcase and The British Club.

The Amwaj Triathlon and Amwaj Marina Family Bazaar will be held at the Amwaj Marina on May 27. The event is dedicated to raise fund to the Bahrain Special Olympics, to support in their participation in the Athens 2011 Special Olympics.

For the 19th consecutive year, the GCSE and A Level Art students at St Christopher's Senior School will be showcasing their talents at the school's annual art exhibition in Isa Town.

To celebrate the International Museum Day 2011, the Bahrain National Museum and Qal'at al-Bahrain Site Museum have organised varied cultural programmes centred on the theme 'Museums and Memory'.

Event: Story of an Artefact

Exhibition followed by a special tour of the museum with Dr Pierre Lombard, head of the French excavation at Qal'at al-Bahrain.

The discovery of an inscribed shoe-like basalt object in 1879 in one of Bahrain's mosques has generated active debate on the location of the land of Dilmun.

The exhibition unravels some of the stories around the discovery and the mysterious whereabouts of the object.

Event: Mapping Bahrain

Artist's Talk and book launch

Venue: Qal'at al-Bahrain Site Museum

Time: 7pm

Mapping Bahrain is a photographic experience in which one photograph is taken every minute continuously during a 24-hour period. The artist, Roberto Lopardo, does not follow a predetermined path, instead engaging the landscape and subjects as they naturally present themselves.
