A DIVERSE group of Bahrainis aged from 18 to their mid-30s attended the second of six career skills seminars organised by Jobs4Bahrainis.com, the first private sector initiative dedicated to getting more nationals into the workforce.

The seminar 'Developing Success at Interviews', was conducted at the Bahrain Conference Centre, Crowne Plaza Hotel and is part of Jobs4Bahrainis.com's 'Essential Employment Skills for Success' programme, the core objective of which is to showcase the different skills sets an individual needs to be successful in job search or work environment.

Matt Weldon, director of banking and financial services at Gulf Connexions, the kingdom's leading recruitment company, spoke to participants about job hunting and interview techniques.

As well as all those who attended the first seminar in February, the latest seminar attracted several new participants keen to gain a competitive edge in the jobs market, including a mother with three children, working professionals as well as fresh graduates.

Jobs4Bahrainis.com business development manager Ali Daylami, left, said: "After the recent events in the kingdom, we are more committed than ever to equip Bahraini nationals with vital careers-related skills and knowledge. We are heartened to see so many young Bahrainis embracing our initiative, interacting enthusiastically with the trainer and asking questions highly relevant to the current jobs market. "

Details of the next seminar 'Essential Teamwork and Motivation', will be provided in due course. Jobs4Bahrainis.com is a joint venture between Gulf Connexions and Al Hilal Group. The programme is open to all Bahraini nationals on a first come, first served basis. Registration must be made in advance by calling 17565359.
