THE Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) splashed its way to victory to take the third outdoor water volleyball championship over the weekend at the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Water Park with a two sets against one victory in the final against BMI Bank.
Having lost the first game 10-12 the team bounced back with a 12-4 success and completed the job 12-9 in the third thrilling encounter.
The final four teams, KPMG, Geant Hypermarket, BMI Bank and CBB went head to head in a knock-out contest, all vying for the host of prizes on offer.
The Geant team took third place bronze medals after beating KPMG in two straight sets, 12-9 and 12-7.
The winning 10-man squad of players walked away with gold medals, the championship trophy and Splashdown passes for access into the water park for the rest of the season.
Adam Alexander Page, LPOD head of marketing and public relations, said: “I would like to congratulate CBB on their victory and all the other teams that have participated and helped in making this championship a success.”
CBB will be returning next year as defending champions for what promises to be the biggest outdoor water volleyball championship Bahrain has ever seen, organisers say.
