Sar Music Centre will be holding a variety of summer camps and courses during the holiday period.

July 17-28 – The Creative Zone will host a two-week musical theatre production
July 17–21 – Rock Shop for children aged 10-16 who can form a band and write songs.
 
On Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4pm-5pm a Theory and Musicianship course will be staged for students aged over 10.

A musical mayhem course will be held throughout the week until the end of summer from 3 to 4pm. Children aged between three and six can enjoy singing, dancing, music and movement, exploring instruments, musical stories, African drumming and musical art.

Return to Fairytale Land will be staged at Bahrain City Centre featuring the legendary tales of Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio and Cinderella with daily shows between July 20-23.

And, Barbie will be calling for the help of Bahrain’s youngest talent as she prepares for an upcoming rock concert from July 27-30.
 
“The popular shows are sure to delight children of all ages this July, and we look forward to welcoming families for a fun day out at Bahrain City Centre,” said Bahrain City Centre general manager Ray Scott.
 
Each show will run Wednesday through Saturday on their scheduled dates, with daily shows at 2pm, 4pm and again at 7pm. 


BAHRAIN’S fun-filled indoor water park Wahooo! and partners Cathay Pacific Airways, are offering visitors the chance to enter a raffle draw with free trips to Dubai and Disneyland Hong Kong.

The park will be holding a weekly draw every Sunday. The lucky winners will receive two flight tickets to Dubai.
The grand finale in the last weekend of July will be a special raffle draw to win a holiday-for-two with free flights, a three-night hotel stay and entry passes to Disneyland Hong Kong.

The second of the two biathlon events will take place at the Marina Club in Manama on July 22. It will include a Summer Biathlon which will consist of a 600-metre swim followed by a five-kilometre run.The ‘Try a Bi’ event consists of a 200m swim followed by a three-km run. Entry for both is open to those aged 16 and above. The Juniors ‘Try a Bi’ is for children aged 12 to 15. It will feature a 200m swim and a three-km run.

Footballers can get the sand between their toes and aim for glory in the Lost Paradise of Dilmun Ramadan Beach Football tournament.

The five-a-side competition will be held every Saturday starting from August 6. It is open to all players aged 18 and above. The registration fee is BD100 per team and the final date to sign-up is July 26.

The Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain summer camp will be staged at Riffa Views International School for boys and girls aged seven to 13, priced BD20, from August 23-25 from 9am to 11.30am. The school’s new autumn term will start on September 19. It has been open since January 2010 and attracts around 500 students to the Batelco Sports Ground in Hamala.

From today until July 16, Spiderman takes to the stage at Bahrain City Centre to recover the stolen ‘Jewel of the East’ from villains Electrode and Black Cat.

 During the 20-minute stage adventure, the comic book hero will put all his martial arts and kick-boxing training to good use as he battles his enemies to recover the stolen jewel. Daily shows take place at 2pm, 4pm and 7pm.

An American Documentary Showcase workshop will be held today, at 9pm at the Al Riwaq Art Space in Adliya. Organised by the American Embassy the three-day workshop is available to all filmmakers residing in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia with proposals to produce a documentary. Space is limited to 12 people. The lectures will be taken by Haifaa Al Mansour, Lois Vossen and Leo Chiang. Entry to the workshop is free. For details contact 17717441.

Stevie ‘the regurgitator’ Starr will perform his specialty swallowing act at Hotel Diva at 9pm. Entry is free. He will also showcase his impressive and bizzare talents at Champs from 9pm tomorrow and tickets cost BD6.
 
He will then make a final appearance at the Dragon Hotel’s Muju Lounge in Amwaj Islands from 9pm on Friday. The show is only free to diners.

The Bahrain Cinema Club in Juffair showcase ‘Falafel’ at 7.30pm.  It’s a story about a young man who faces many challenges and obstacles on the way to a party. For any further details contact 39682323.

Parisian DJ Kiwi will present a headline performance at the Marina Club’s Full Moon Party.
