I REFER to Dr Tarik’s letter regarding erythropoietin and headaches in last week’s GulfWeekly. Firstly, I wonder how you can quantify headaches in mice. Secondly, he need not worry about testing the effects of the hormone on humans. Surely, all he needs to do is ask some of the riders in the Tour de France if they suffer from headaches. Haven’t some been known to use performance-enhancing drugs such as this? I hope this will help him complete his research.

IT was very nice to see and read the article about the ‘Half-Moon Terminator’ which was written in an impressive and informative way. Well done. And, of course, I also had the chance to learn more about the photographer and his son by following the link to their website and photo galleries.

I am a regular reader of GulfWeekly because I often travel to the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

I AM a 15-year-old Bahraini boy who has spent almost five years reading issues of Gulf Weekly, and let me just say, I admire your newspaper very much and I think it is one of the best ever!

I’m an avid reader and I especially love to read the Youth Talk column – it’s the first thing I read when I get the paper, then I read Charlie Holding’s movie reviews.

In last week’s issue you reported that your columnist Sangeetha is leaving to continue with her studies in the US. I wish her the best and tell her that she will be missed by her readers.

AS the proverb says ‘birds of a feather flock together’. I think most people living on the island would like to support our national carrier. Gulf Air has to simply remain reliable, offer the best flight deals possible ... and mixed with Bahraini hospitality customer loyalty will be guaranteed.
Salman, Manama.
