Gulf Weekly Motorcycling academy opens

THE Middle East’s first ‘Academy of Motorcycling’ has been launched at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). It is the brainchild of Harley-Davidson Bahrain, with support from Harley-Davidson Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

Close to 70 per cent of Harley-Davidson’s new customers do not have a motorcycle licence, and in an effort to educate new riders, as well as allow veterans to hone their skills, Harley-Davidson has teamed up with the BIC to offer a number of courses, led by trained professionals from the company’s acclaimed schools worldwide.

Staff members have been trained by Peter Scott, a fully qualified instructor.

“It’s a great opportunity to provide learning programmes for all riders, whether they are just starting to learn about motorcycles, or have been riders for many years,” said executive director of Harley-Davidson Bahrain, Ian Jennings.

“Our classes are open to all, giving anyone a chance to experience the thrill of not just learning to ride a motorcycle but also the unique experience of riding a Harley-Davidson in a safe and controlled environment at the Bahrain International Circuit,” added Monther Al Mutlaq, owner of Harley-Davidson Bahrain.
