November Music Box Special – five weeks of hairy lips after Bahrain’s top DJ Stevie George’s close shave in Manama.
So the progress of my first-ever ‘Dot and Dash’ (Cockney rhyming slang for moustache) is better than I expected – and I’m extremely impressed with what a great conversation piece it has become.
That in turn makes it easier to explain to people all about the Movember campaign and to remind them to sponsor me via my Mo Bro website at https://mobro.co/steviegeorge
It has also encouraged a few friends and work colleagues to join up and help support the worthy cause. Remember boys and girls, even just a small donation can help make a difference so go check out my website.
I know some guys from previous years have kept their facial hair allowing it to grow to impressive proportions and I must admit if I was to let mine grow I would love to emulate that famous actor Tom Selleck, otherwise known as Magnum P.I.
The iconic 1980s detective series featured not only that famous moustache, but also some colourful characters and a highly-desirable Ferrari 308GTS.
It also featured a hugely recognisable theme tune composed by the legendary Mike Post who was also responsible for the music behind The A Team, Hill Street Blues, The Rockford Files, Quantum Leap and CHIPS.
I am sure there were a few hairy lips in amongst those classic TV shows, plus loads of memories of your favourite actors of the time. You may even end up humming the theme tunes to yourself throughout the day ... and if anybody gives you a strange look just blame me and point them in the direction of my Mo Bro website.
So whilst you go looking through the Movember website to place a small donation to support my Dot and Dash, let me leave you with this thought ... we never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.
