COSTA Coffee’s top barista Ace Valino from Bahrain has been crowned ‘Champion of Champions’ at the Costa Barista of the Year competition finals that took place in the UK.

Ace flew the flag for Bahrain at the London event after winning the contest’s regional final.

He beat 2,000 baristas from all over the world to finally claim the crown after impressing the judges with his signature ‘Midnight Snatcher’ beverage made using nutmeg and chili.

Ace, whose title bid was recently featured in GulfWeekly, said: “I am incredibly honoured and excited to have won the award.”
The Filipino expat who lives in Gudaibiya, won a 10-day dream trip-for-two, with spending money, to Brazil.

Jawad Business Group chairman and CEO Faisal Jawad handed over a trophy to Ace at a special ceremony at Costa Coffee in Bahrain City Centre last week.
