Bahrain’s elite and fashion trendsetters were invited to the soon-to-open Ixir section of the five-star Kempinski hotel for a glamorous evening in celebration of style, beauty and luxury fashion.
The VIP event took place in a new location and on a different date than originally planned to finally wrap up Bahrain City Centre’s Fall for Fashion campaign.
It was originally scheduled to take place by the poolside of the Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel seven days earlier but was postponed as a mark of respect following the death of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The location changed at the last minute on Wednesday because of the windy weather so the guests were treated to a sneak preview of the Ixir’s lobby shortly before it officially opens following its sister hotel’s ‘grand’ entrance on the hospitality scene a few weeks ago.
The ‘hot tickets’ for the night ensured only ‘invited’ guests could attend the show organised in partnership with glossy magazine Grazia and the absence of familiar faces on the island’s social function scene was evident.
Highlights of Fall for Fashion included a live photographic shoot bringing runway-style glamour to the event floor and an exhibition showcasing autumn’s fashions from some of Bahrain City Centre’s most luxurious retailers including Saks Fifth Avenue, Versace, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Salvatore Ferragamo.
International DJ Damian D’Costa entertained the crowd, while guests enjoyed delicious Kempinski canapés and beverages in a fashion-infused atmosphere making the show one of the hottest events of the year.
Breast cancer awareness campaign Think Pink Bahrain also benefitted from the proceeds of a silent auction staged. Amongst the donated items up for grabs were two pairs of Kurt Geiger shoes, a Kate Middleton-style dress and a Lotus Aigner handbag. The auctioned items were snapped up for bargain prices and raised BD950 for the cause on the night.
Guests were also treated to the chance of opening a chest inside Saks Fifth Avenue containing a BD500 shopping voucher by plucking out the correct lucky key from a glass bowl at the party.
