This week’s photograph is so much better ... I am starting to have facial hair to be proud of.
I do not believe that the image in last week’s issue did my attempted ‘tickly tash’ any favours at all but I was mightily impressed with the one featured on the letters page of teacher Barry Hobday ... and even more impressed that a growing number of people are getting involved in this community campaign.
So well done Barry – and everybody else here in Bahrain – for sacrificing their top lips and self esteem in support of the Movember movement.
On the last Wednesday in November we will try to get all Mo Bros together for a big send off (or should that be shave off) of our moustaches.
Please don’t forget to check my own Movember website at https://mobro.co/steviegeorge and feel free to donate just a few dinars to help this wonderful cause to highlight men’s health and, in particular, raise awareness of cancer issues.
Formula 1 is a major talking point at the moment, not only here where we are all praying for the return of those 5 red lights over the start/finish line on April 22 next year at the Bahrain International Circuit, but also the return of the old Lewis Hamilton, the driver we all adore. Would he have won in Abu Dhabi if Vettel hadn’t crashed out on the second corner will remain an unanswered question, but I must mention the letter sent by Nigel Mansell congratulating Vettel on the German star beating his own record of most pole positions and most laps led in a season. Because, of course, Mansell was the owner of one of the greatest sporting memories ever – that moustache! Yes, he was very boring and, yes, we all dreaded to hear him during those post race interviews ... but just look at that beauty of groomed facial hair.
So, in tribute to Formula One and the post race party held by the McLaren team, here’s my list of top tunes to get the house movin’.
Flo Rida and David Guetta – Club Can’t Handle Me Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling Girls Aloud – Love Machine Jackie Wilson – Reet Petite LMFAO – Party Rock Anthem
The hot list of party favourites could go on and on, so once again I’ll leave you with a thought: ‘the easiest way to make your old car run better is to check the prices of a new car’.
