The Dilmun Stables held its third Show Jumping League event on Friday, once again sponsored by Al Dar Islands who provided trophies for all the winners.

Though a somewhat quieter show than normal due to the Eid holidays it was still a great success for all participants.

Dilmun Stables manager Melanie Spink’s clear round attempt was thwarted in the Green Horse class due to course connoisseur Basel Aldosseri’s penchant for tight turns. Undeterred, Melanie simply decided more practice was required.

However, aspiring champion Aimee Keen is out of Green Horse now as she completed clear round number three. Charlotte Gunby also went clear, with newcomer Michaela Rizzo doing herself proud, not clear but completing the twists and turns of the course with growing confidence.

The second class Junior & Adult 1, was a speed class so precision was the name of the game.

Melanie, deciding that her horse Billy needed a bit more practice, suggested to young Hannah van der Eyken that she should take Billy for a spin. There was no stopping this horse as the pair flew to victory.  Hannah also managed fifth place in the class astride Nelson.

Tamara Alomari with the talented Skippy took second place in the Junior 1 class, the first part of their double for the day, as the pair also took second place in Junior 2.

Aimee, with the lovely Sedona, gleaned third in Junior 1. This pair went on to a brilliantly executed triumph in Junior 2. This particular show saw many a new name come to the fore, as Ma’oof Rumaihi took Skippy through his paces to seal sixth place in Junior 1.
For the adults, Manal Fakhrawai with super horse Kuwait were the clear winners in Adult 1.  A welcome return to Sharon Nicklin who’s inaugural show saw her clinch second place in Adult 1 with Tayar. Dani Shaw, now leasing Rangerino whilst Amelia Boyd studies in the UK, secured fifth place in Adult 1. The pair also bagged second place in Adult 2.

Aldosseri was really on form, constructing a complicated course for Junior & Adult 2, incorporating a treble combination to test horse and rider skills.

Tayar with Fahad Aldosseri took to the fray, scooping up third place in Adult 1, then going on to a very respectable fourth in Adult 2.

However, newcomer Mohammed Al Hassan cleverly manoeuvred Tahsan around the challenging course to secure first place in the Adult 2 class. Undoubtedly, we will be seeing more of this talented pair.

The next show is scheduled for December 2.
