Gulf Weekly Write to the editor

Once again the festive season is upon us and I have noticed many people using stars to decorate their homes. It is also seen as a symbol of hope, happiness and joy.

I aim to bring a new face to unwanted wire-hangers with the invention of a recycled Christmas star.

I’m sure your readers could also decorate their homes with them too and enjoy all the blessings and happiness the season brings.
I am attaching a photograph, pictured right, as an example.

We are pleased to announce that the 5th Annual Charity Sale Bazaar in Shahrazad Hall (previously known as Bushehri Hall – off Budaiya Road – turn right after Zait Al Zaytoon Restaurant) will take place on January 7, 2012, from 9am to 7pm.

Please participate in this great charity event to help the needy people in Bahrain. There are many ways readers can help.

  • Donate items for the charity sale event from December 24 to January 5 from 10am to noon and from 5pm to 7pm. We will accept clothes, books, furniture, toys, kitchen items, electronics, games, works of art and DVDs.
  • Volunteer to help sort and/or price items on January 3-6.
  • Volunteer on the day of the charity sale bazaar
  • And finally, spread the word and shop at the bazaar!

All proceeds from the sale of donated items will go to charity. Ask your family, friends, neighbours and co-workers if they’d like to donate to our cause.

The more funds we raise, the more help we can provide to the needy people in Bahrain. We need everyone’s help to make this event a success.

Please note that all donations must be in good condition, that electrical items must be in working condition and please have a battery available to show battery-operated items work. Toys must be together with all parts and all games must be in their boxes with all pieces.

For donations and to volunteer please contact 39414194, email nada.mahmood@gmail.com or visit our website: https://www.wix.com/bahraincharityevent/jan2012
