Many know of All Blacks winger Sonny Bill Williams as a game-changing powerhouse, capable of bull-dozing his way through the tightest of opposition defences.
However, many will not know that, away from the rugby field, he is also forging a reputation as a talented boxer.
Under his contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union he is allowed to take part in a limited number of heavyweight fights. To date he has conquered all four of his opponents.
This has led to an opportunity for him to fight on February 8 for New Zealand’s heavyweight title. He will be up against Richard Tutaki who has knocked out nine opponents in winning 19 of his 41 fights.
What a story it would be for the World Cup winner to also claim the heavyweight belt, only three weeks before he is due to make his Super 15 debut with the Waikato Chiefs!
