Gulf Weekly Nayel clinches impressive win

NAYEL Al Borshaid outplayed 17-year-old Sam Hobday in the final of the St Christopher’s Golf League to clinch the trophy.
The plucky 13-year-old won 3 & 1 in the match play event on the Wee Monty at the Royal Golf Club.

The league has been an annual feature since 2001 and this year involved the school’s 11 best golfers, who played against each other during the term.

The players are allotted shots depending upon their handicap. Nayel had a handicap of 22 whereas Sam’s handicap was 0.

In the third place playoff, Justin Jones-Clewley beat Yaseen Lefalher 1up, while Harry Bullman defeated Gary Kruger 3&1 in the fifth place playoff.
