ALUMINIUM Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) production figures for 2011 reached 881,310 metric tonnes per annum (mtpa) which was the highest level ever recorded.
A ceremony to mark this accomplishment was held at the Princess Sabeeka Oasis on Thursday.
It was attended by Alba’s chief executive, Laurent Schmitt, chief supply chain officer and acting chief operation officer, Isa Al Ansari, chief financial officer, Tim Murray and chief marketing officer, Jean Baptiste Lucas, as well as other senior company officials.
Mr Schmitt said: “2011 was a challenging year for most industries in Bahrain, and yet, in 2011, Alba succeeded in achieving the highest metal production in the company’s 40-year history.”
