Last week we mentioned some new artists to look out for during this New Year, so how about we embellish that thought a little more and introduce some of the albums that seem to be causing a stir already.
Rachel Platten’s album Be Here was released during 2011 and comes highly-recommended by journalists and fans alike – the gossip is that there should be a new album from her very soon.
Lana Del Rey should have her brand new album Born To Die available by the end of January and offers some very emotional but fresh-sounding songs – one of those albums to squeeze in your collection between Bruno Mars and Alicia Keys probably.
You may also remember from last week I offered some tunes to help keep you motivated for your New Years’ resolutions – and if your main goal is fitness it seems the marketing boys and girls have done the job for you already.
Amongst the multitude of Christmas releases I noticed The Workout Mix 2012 which features a mixture of standard pop songs and remixes, Pumped Up (The 2012 Running Mix) seems to offer much of the same but with three CDs, or my personal favourite from The Ministry Of Sound people - an album called Running Trax Gold which has 60 top quality tracks, not only from recent months but classics from the 1990s too.
So, now there is no excuse not to don those new jogging bottoms and trainers you got two weeks ago and start to get fit – as for me, I’ll keep promising myself to go to the gym tomorrow.
Whatever you have planned for the weekend I hope it goes smoothly, and until next time readers think about this: There’s a fine line between cuddling and holding someone down so they can’t get away.
