THE WHC Brien Trophy was played on Friday at Awali Golf Club in near perfect conditions. The overall winner of the competition was Adel A Al Gaoud with a score of 42 stableford points.
Al Gaoud had a super front nine of 20 points before storming home in 22 points to win by two points.
David Turner’s back nine of 23 points secured second place with a score of 40 points. Robert Storrie also finished on 40 points but lost on count back to claim the final podium place.
David Spittal finished in fourth place with a solid score of 39 points. Awali Golf Club president Andy McAlpine and greens representative Ali Musbah also finished on 39 points to finish in fifth and sixth places respectively.
This weekend’s action is the Hempel’s pairs competition.
