Classic movie musical Annie will come to life in the kingdom thanks to the efforts of nearly 50 children and adults who will sing, dance and act out three performances of the famous musical next month.
It is being produced by Rory Adamson, who also plays the character Daddy Warbucks, and will feature youngsters aged between six and 17.
The children, some of who have never been on stage before, are part of the British School-based Music And Stage for Kids (MASK).
Adults Penny Erickson, Oliver Alexander and Laura Bradley will play characters Miss Hannigan, Rooster and Grace and the starring role will be played by Scarlett Lowry. She is pictured above, right, with Annie understudy Imogen Szecowka and Sandy the dog (played by Milly with her understudy, Lilly)
The show will be staged on February 2, 3 and 4 at the British Club in Adliya. Tickets for each show cost BD6 and are available from the club, the British School Bahrain in Hamala and Al Osra supermarket in Saar.
The Breast Cancer Support Group (BCSG) will be holding a meeting at World Beat Fitness Centre Cafe in Janabiya on February 1 from 11.30am.
The BCSG invites any ladies who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, whatever stage of healing they are at, to the meeting.
The group offers support and encouragement from a positive personal experience to others who have been diagnosed with the disease.
The guest speaker is Dr Bhramara Madduri, from Art of Living. She will discuss the effect of Sudarshan Kriya (a breathing technique taught in the Art of Living course) on Immune Function.
The BCSG will continue to meet on the first Wednesday of each month at World Beat Fitness Centre Cafe and follows on from a healing movement class.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Raw World Tour comes to the UAE’s capital for the first time.

Ladies of the Aisha Yateem Family Counselling Centre are holding their third charity bazaar breakfast in aid of abused women in the kingdom.
