Gulf Weekly Bahrain duo second in master chef challenge

Bahrain chefs Yousif Ahmed and Sayed Hanif from The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence & Spa took second place in the GCC Anchor MasterChef competition which attracted 35 teams of professional chefs.

Daniel Edward, speciality sous chef, and Dedy Supriady, executive pastry chef, from The Address Downtown Dubai, retained the title.

Chef Ahmed said: “We would obviously have loved to have won but to be able to show what we are capable of has been a real honour and our second place has not discouraged us – we will go away and work harder so we can come back and win next year!”

The winners produced exceptional signature dishes and an outstanding creative menu from a ‘mystery basket’ of ingredients, which included sea bass, baby chicken and Anchor Extra Yield Cooking Cream, in a competition finale held in the Culinarium, Fonterra’s state-of-the-art kitchen in Dubai.
