Auditions are being held next week for a production of a play to be performed in May. Ten actors and actresses are needed to fill the parts in See How They Run, a classic English comedy in three acts by Philip King, being staged by the Manama Theatre Club, a section of the British Club in Mahooz.

A charity dog walk and car boot sale is being held to raise money for abandoned dogs and cats.The event is being organised by Tony Waters, pictured above, ‘the Dogfather’, and the Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in Saar.It will take place at the Bahrain Rugby Football Club in Saar on March 10 from 9am. Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) has launched a nationwide competition that gives the public a chance to win tickets to the 2012 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.

Fans are being urged to submit original video footage showing their love for the kingdom’s race while reflecting on the slogan of this year’s event: ‘UNIF1ED – One Nation in Celebration’.

The winner will receive a Main Grandstand ticket to attend the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. The runner-up will win a Batelco Grandstand ticket, while the third-place prize is a Turn One Grandstand ticket.

Videos must be three minutes or less and can be submitted either in Standard-Definition or High-Definition. They must be saved onto a DVD in one of the following formats: WMV, AVI or MPG. Files must be no larger than 200MB.

Meanwhile, BIC is also inviting all members of the public to contribute a personal photograph, no smaller than 3MB in size, for a chance to be a part of a unique exhibition.

Photos must be e-mailed to BICphotocomp@gmail.com with an entry form, along with the date that the photograph was taken.
The deadline is March 10. Forms are available at the BIC stands in Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall.
