St Christopher’s School pupils gained revenge by thrashing the teachers in their annual golfing challenge match last week at the Royal Golf Club.
After losing to the staff for the first time in 10 years last year, ace Sam Hobday, 18, led his team to a comfortable 6-0 whitewash of the staff to regain the trophy.
Sam recently beat Faris Brough, 15, in the final of the St Christopher’s Matchplay contest – in which the students play each other on a knockout basis. Sam beat Faris on the 20th hole in a close and exciting match.
Staff members held their own annual golf competition and the winner was Dave Williams with 36 points, narrowly beating Billy Goldring on countback.
