A FIELD of 29 pairs took to the Awali Golf Club course in perfect conditions to compete in Friday’s Johnnie Walker foursomes – a challenging alternate shot format contest.
The team of Essa Al Qutami and Mohammed Rashid were crowned the overall winners with a fantastic score of 36 stableford points. The pair edged out club president Andy ‘Ace’ McAlpine and committee member Steve Brown, who also finished on 36 points and were unfortunate to lose on count back.
The final podium position was claimed by the husband and wife pairing of Robert and Rebecca Fisher with a fine effort of 34 points.
The Fisher’s score was matched by the pair of Ali Musbah and Hamed Fares Al Qutami who took the final prize of the event, finishing in fourth place.
The pairings of Pete Rogers and John Loughnane and Abdul Elah Fakhro and Derek Hutchinson were also unfortunate to lose out on countback.
This week’s event is the KTC Spring Medal which will take place on Friday.
