Runners will be stepping out in a series of races to raise funds and awareness of autism on April 13 at Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park in Hidd.
There will be a 2km junior race for children aged six to 12, a 3km for ages 13 and above, an 8km for those 16 and above and a 4km walkathon for anyone aged over 13.
Entry costs BD4 for children under 15, BD6 for 16 and above and BD2 for 13 and over. The event starts at 9am and proceeds go to the RIA Autism Centre.

Al Riwaq Art Space is hosting a cultural and artistic exhibition this month. The theme of the exhibition explores the concept of ‘I Am The Other’. The display focuses on the search for the answers to unspoken questions. The square next to Monsoon restaurant in Adliya will also be transformed into a public park to accommodate outdoor music and film events. The exhibition will run until April 13.

The official Bahrain Gulf Air Grand Prix after-race party will take place at Coral Bay on April 22. The event, hosted by Likwid Productions and HedKandi, will feature DJ John Jones and the Kandi Girls. America Week will be held from May 20-26 and will feature a variety of family activities dedicated to music, culture, tourism and education. Entry will be free.
An art exhibition will be held at Seef Mall, located on the first floor in the West Extension, to showcase work by national artists as part of the build-up to 2012 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, from 10am-10pm until Saturday.
Meanwhile, off-track entertainment will be staged at the F1 Village vending area during the race weekend. There will be carnival games, rides and arts and crafts and a performance by Red Hot Chilli Pipers, amongst others, behind the BIC’s Main Grandstand. Air-conditioned tents will also be provided, dedicated to children’s entertainment.
