As the kingdom gears up for the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2012, film reviewer May Al Mousawi counts down her top five motoring-inspired movies.

5) Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby (2006).

This action comedy tells the story of Ricky Bobby, a seemingly unstoppable NASCAR driver. However when a French Formula One driver starts to make his way up the ladder, Ricky is put to the test.

4) Senna (2010)

This documentary tells the story of Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna. The legendary motor racing champion won the F1 world championship three times before his death at the age of 34.
 
3) Drive (2011)

The film follows a mysterious character, who is a movie stuntman by day and a getaway driver for armed burglars by night.

2) Cars (2006)

An animated movie about a race-car named Lightning McQueen who gets sent to Radiator Spring and discovers the meaning of a true friendship.

1) The Fast And The Furious (2001)

Brian O’Connor, an undercover policeman, infiltrates LA’s street racing subculture. He is left questioning his loyalties when his new racing friends become the suspects in the theft of expensive electronic equipment.
