Fans of US electro pop-duo LMFAO were thisweek still smarting from the cancellation of Sunday’s F1 concert and many arenow giving the ‘Party Rockers’ the cold shoulder.

The Los Angeles-based entertainers, knownfor their body pumping music such as chart-topping hit Party Rock Anthem, wereset to light-up the Main Stage at the Formula One Village, ending grand prixweekend on a high-note.

However, in recent days LMFAO, named aftera rude acronym for laughing out loud, had been bombarded with messages of hatefrom anti-government protesters wanting to spoil the F1 celebrations.

Their fans in Bahrain had already acceptedthe news that Skyler Austen Gordy, otherwise known as DJ Sky Blu, would not bejoining his partner Stefan Kendal Gordy, aka DJ Redfoo, on stage due to a backinjury, and still flocked to the box office to buy tickets to watch the show.

The act’s celebrated live stage appearancesinclude the Party Rock Crew made up of Quest Crew, DJ Air, Q Da Danca, ShuffleBot and Nate & Furr.

However, just hours before their plannedarrival LMFAO sent a statement to the Bahrain International Circuit managementthat they would not be able to perform on Sunday evening because DJ Air, whothey described as an essential member of the booked act, had fractured hisfibula and dislocated his ankle.

They were supposed to have arrived inBahrain on Saturday night but DJ Air had to be flown back to the US for surgeryafter a spectacular crunch in Russia, the act claimed. DJ Air reported on April16 on Twitter, a popular social networking site, that he had a ‘fracturedfibula, ruptured tendons and displacement of ankle’.

He tweeted this while in Moscow before anappearance at a club. He also added a link which features an X-ray of his calf.He then tweeted, “Tomorrow I will be on stage with fractured leg and displacedankle! I have never missed a LMFAO show. Love What I Do Party Rock.”

However, it wasn’t going to be in Bahrain. On the day of the show he posted an image of his bruised leg without a cast.

Fans were also puzzled after watching LMFAOappearing live on American Idol in the US on Thursday. The TV show wasbroadcast the following night on OSN in Bahrain. DJ Sky Blu appeared despitehis ‘back injury’.

The mystery and fury continued to rage.@MohmdAshoor tweeted: “So apparently LMFAO were double booked and will be inPanama instead of Bahrain.”

Ali Fareed, another disgruntled fan, said: “Idecided to UnFollow@LMFAO after their disgraceful backout from performing at#BahrainGP. You guys aren’t worthy of #Bahrain#F1 fans.”

Other fans believe they backed out becausethey were bombarded with comments discouraging them from coming to Bahrain suchas this one from @iRidwial who sent a link of an image with this threat:  “@LMFAO Are you prepared to performwearing gas masks?”

After the cancellation furious former fansraged:

l @mosthappening said: “@LMFAO way to go onsuccumbing under pressure and not performing in Bahrain. Learn to keep acommitment! This is not Miami *****!”

l @HaMoOdKhOoRi said: “LMFAO I hope you canread this. I just wanted to ask why you were not there in Bahrain. F1 millionswere waiting for you. Everybody retweet!”

l @iDanaQ said: “LMFAO are scheduled tohost a concert in Las Vegas on Monday, makes me think, were they reallyscheduled for Bahrain?”

l @fatenhaddad added: “LMFAO concertcancelled in Bahrain – weirdly it has never been on their schedule!”

GulfWeekly emailed, called, tweeted and evensent a message on Facebook to get to the bottom of it but LMFAO managementfailed to respond by the time this newspaper went to press.
