Expatriates who have been terminated from their jobs but cannot leave Bahrain due to outstanding debts will now be able to renew their Residence Permit in order to transfer to another employer and repay their financial obligations.

Expatriates who have outstanding debts have not been able to exit the country or have legal residence status, upon the conclusion or termination of their employment, until all debts had been cleared. At the same time, the termination of contracts has left many in limbo.

The Under-Secretary Shaikh Rashid invited all expatriates who have submitted applications to appeal their travel ban status to present themselves to the Public Relations Department in order to follow up the adjustment of their status. The ‘gadgets of the week’ column doesn’t mention the shops where these items are sold. I was interested in the video swim mask featured in last week’s GulfWeekly for Father’s Day coming up in June. Can you please forward me the information on where it is available?

Jameela Mohanna, Bahrain.

Editor’s note: The gadgets we publish are new to the market and global distribution may still be in its infancy. However, to assist readers we will in future publish a link to the company’s website. For more details on the video swim mask visit www.liquidimageco.com

Even McLaren with one of the sexiest motors available came up with a boring MP4-12C, what’s that all about?

Do you remember when cars had names that made the heart beat a little faster, like the Spitfire, Cobra, Triumph, pictured above, and Phantom?

Thank heavens the Americans still have a sense of occasion with the Dodge Charger!
