Comedy duo Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are reuniting in a new animated adaptation of The Canterville Ghost, a classic story by Oscar Wilde.

The two are most famous for their TV debut A Bit of Fry and Laurie which ran from 1987 to 1995. They have appeared in several movies together including Spice World (1997) and Blackadder Back & Forth (1999).

The Canterville Ghost sees Fry and Laurie lend their voices as two ghosts haunting a British mansion, the Canterville Chase, when an American family moves in.

The film is being produced by Gina Carter and Robert Chandler as a Melmoth Films production, representing a co-production between Fry’s Sprout Pictures Film and Jerry Hibbert’s new animation company, D’Arblay Films.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the feature will be animated in London and Toronto, with direction, designs and storyboards from D’Arblay Films in the UK.

It is being marketed as a family feature, for worldwide release in December 2014.
