Gulf Weekly Write to the editor

The Palm Association recently accepted a very generous donation from Round Table Bahrain. Its members have very kindly decided to cover the entire cost of the month of August for our Feed-A-Family project.

The donation of BD2,325 will support 155 less fortunate families as they celebrate Eid.

We would also like to extend our thanks to GulfWeekly for the continued support you give us. It’s through continued exposure in the media, applauding these types of donations and the work that the Palm Association does, through its various programmes, that enables us to continue giving assistance.

Tina Hunt, communications officer, The Palm Association.

I must comment on some of the ludicrous letters published in GulfWeekly surrounding expat brats. It can’t be our kids who are responsible for the graffiti because the spelling of the words sprayed on the walls is incorrect, suggested one mother. You want to see the behaviour of some of the kids attempting to climb over the walls into a well-known expat club on a Thursday evening because mum and dad are out partying and sensible Simon and perfect Patricia have been left to their own devices at home (so their parents think) with the maid. Get a grip and find out what your kids are up to.

Concerned adult, Saar.

With reference to artist Frances Stafford’s latest collection entitled M-Theory on display at the World Beat Fitness Centre, the speed of light is determined quite easily in the book ‘Absolute relativity - Theory of everything’.

Light can only move as fast as the universe is expanding, creating a dimension for it to move into – simple as that. M-Theory is attempting to make man magic on the basis of not understanding nature.

Thank you so much for the review of See How They Run in last week’s issue, especially for picking up on Palmyra’s excellence. I really believe we will all be able to say in a few years’ time that we saw her on stage first!

The cast put in a huge amount of work on these productions and they really appreciate it when they get some real feedback, so again thank you for taking the time to write such an all-encompassing review.
